About Me

A brief view into my timeline over the past 10 years as an entrepreneur.

How I got started as a Digital Marketing Strategist & Personal Branding Vet.

Eventually, I will add a video timeline on here, & get a bit more in depth, but for now, this will do.

We never succeed in Life, unless we go through trial and error. I am not one to hide my journey from anyone.

Please note this timeline is in the “Day-Month-Year” format, & not “month, day, year.”

My First splash into being an entrepreneur

Started a private Bartending & Cocktail service company called, “On-Point Bartending & Cocktail Services” in Miami, Fl. to make some extra cash on the weekends with my ex-wife.

We quickly realize we are short-handed, so we start recruiting all my fellow bartender & server friends in Miami to work the events with us. We do everything from weddings, to birthdays, office parties, bar mitzvahs, you name it.

We ran our business strictly off referrals, & at the time we are doing quite decent. Not bad for a side hustle Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays.

Trouble Aboard

Due to circumstances in life, my ex-wife and I separate for good, & of course the business that was lightly thriving goes up in a ball of smoke.

While I knew what I had to do to save it, my health started failing at the same time. Big time.

I get hospitalized due to physical and mental stress

I get diagnosed with “Ulcerative Colitis” & am told I will have to be on Meds for the rest of my life. The side effects make me suicidal, swell up my body, & I cry during commercials. I hated the meds. But I was under the impression that I HAD To take them. That was my life at that point. My marriage was over, it was time to make a drastic change.

Oh!!! Almost forgot. I got a colonoscopy. That was my life at that point. The last straw was when the doctors went up my butt. I knew it was time for a drastic change.

I Move Back To My Hometown N.Y.

After living in Florida for 16 years, I move back to N.Y.  focused on revitalizing my life, starting new, and getting off those damn Meds. The first thing I do when I’m on the plane?

Flush those damn pills down the toilet, and order a Captain & coke.

Back to Bartending & Serving

I get a job Bartending & Serving at a place called, “Chevy’s Fresh Mex” on Times Square in N.Y.C. I spend that winter & early spring

I spend that winter re-acclimating myself to life in the Big Apple. Lots of Jameson’s Irish Whiskey, & lots of late nights.

Poetry Comes Back Into My Life

I start hitting up the little small open mic bars and cafe’s in the city, & reciting my poetry in front of hundreds of unknown people. Most of the time I’m by myself, although occasionally a family member or the current lady friend of the week or month accompanies me.

9 times out of 10 I’m by myself though. Lone Wolf Status. That’s How I was rolling.

Guess what? Colitis is in remission.

I discover the gym

I discover the gym after a lady I briefly dated said my arms looked like 2 chicken wings one night when we were cracking jokes. While I deserved it for teasing her, I decided it was time for a change. #GymStatus

I start taking online courses in Marketing

I start taking online courses in Marketing & self-publishing because I want to become a famous writer and poet.

The idea of starting a blog births itself in my head but hasn’t fully taken hold yet.

Craigslist Side Gigs

On a whim, I start picking up side jobs on Craigslist doing some copywriting for small businesses & web designers who needed web copy written for their client’s websites. The pay isn’t all that but it’s extra money & I start refining my craft.

Network Marketing

I was told about this fabulous opportunity to make money by selling coffee infused with the ganoderma mushroom. All I had to do was invest $1,000 & sell my product to my family and friends. Once they saw me making money, they’d want to sign up also, and I’d make a commission off of them. Then when they signed up people, I’d make a smaller commission of those people, and so on, and so forth. All I saw was Dollar Sign$$.

I loved the idea of owning my own business once again and jumped in feet first. “Healthy Coffee?” It was a no f***ing brainer. Everyone I knew drank coffee. Literally, everyone. I couldn’t lose. I just couldn’t… Or could I?

I Realized The Old Archaic Way Of Network Marketing Was Not Working

So I looked online for help. 911 Internet… 911.

Met a Mentor in the Digital Marketing industry

This mentor started coaching me, teaching me the ropes of on how to market online effectively. He also took note of my writing skills and got me a job working for an SEO company as a copywriter.

Got My 1st Freelance Ghostwriting Gig

for a network marketing colleague who hated writing but has a well-established blog. I realized I could not only make money writing web content for website owners but by also penning blog posts as a ghostwriter as well. Cha-Ching!$

I Run A Successful Social Media Campaign

For The Same Network Marketer & He Racks in The $$ due to a training course, he sold on his website.

Through Word Of Mouth I Am Now Being Contracted To Ghostwrite on MLM Blogs

And start doing Social Media Management and Consulting for clients.

With The Help of A Silent Partner, We Launch A New Company

Called “Mojo Magnet Marketing.” We provide Social Media Management, and Ghostwriting services for small businesses, and recording artists.

After A Few Semi-Successful Years Running Mojo Magnet Marketing

We decided to dissolve the company due to conflicts of interest. I learn a very important lesson on partnerships in business.

I Stop Blogging on AlSpaulding.com

I lost passion for it completely. I started focusing on writing more for the couple clients I had left. Became well known in the industry as a savvy Ghostwriting bandit.

I Move to Indianapolis & Launch BeastNut, LLC

Looking for a fresh start and following my heart, I move to the midwest. I start a digital consultancy called, BeastNut. I have a few years of moderate success but not to where I want it to be. Something is missing. I just haven’t figured it out yet.

I Figure Out What Was Missing From My Life

Writing!!!! All these years I have been writing for other people, clients, and companies. All these years I have neglected writing for me. I start penning my first novel, “The Art Behind bad wording Up.”

I Decide to Relaunch My Blog Again

After much thought, I realize I needed to start blogging again. It’s what makes me happy. At the same time, I decided to Rebrand my digital marketing consultancy a bit. Instead of just “BeastNut”, it is now “BeastNut Media.”

Jewels and gems dropped for free, take advantage people – open your mind and soak up the information : Knowledge is power. Keep doing big things Al.
